Episode 101: What can I say? It's a gift.

Meet Lisa Roberts. She’s a sought after taste maker who calls trend setting designers her friends.

She started her career as an architect and then became a product designer. You can find her designs in all the top department stores. Her first book, Antiques of the Future, was a huge success. Lisa Roberts is ready for her second book, DesignPOP, and she’s assembling her talented team: Kelly Turso, her photographer; Lisa Benn, her graphic designer; and Maria Eife, her research assistant. Their assignment is to find the best, most innovative, new products on the market today for the new book. A TV crew follows their every move.

The hunt begins at the New York International Gift Fair, open only to people in the trade. Later they test several products to see if they perform as promised. A Brelli umbrella gets a full-blown test in a laboratory wind tunnel. Tension develops as creative heads butt on the set of the book’s first photo shoot. Finally, we find out which products ultimately make the cut for the book.
